How we work
Prayer is the basis for all that we do, and where it all started. All our activities are underpinned by prayer through our PF groups, which meet monthly.
Our aim is to have a group in place to support every prison in England and Wales. Find out where your nearest group is.
We ask all PF members to join their local group first before going into prison as this is where they will get a feel for PF’s work and be trained up to go into prison. As well as supporting prisons in prayer and running PF programmes, our groups also run Bible Studies, help with chapel services and volunteer with chaplaincy in a wide variety of ways.
What we believe
Prison Fellowship is a Christian organisation, and is part of a global movement of people motivated by their faith to transform lives and communities by bringing love in action, acting with justice and showing mercy.
We see local churches as important partners in our work. We need churches to:
- Pray: Prayer is extremely important to the ministry of Prison Fellowship, it underpins everything we do. Prayer changes lives
- Volunteer: Encourage your members to volunteer and support prisoners in their local prison through Prison Fellowships programmes
- Give: Sow financially into the work so we can support more prisoners, transform their lives and those affected by crime
