Prison Fellowship England and Wales (PF) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Aitken as our patron.
Jonathan has been a longstanding friend and supporter of PF and brings a wealth of relevant experience to us. He will lend his knowledge, skills and influence to assist us in pursuing our mission to show Christ’s love to prisoners by coming alongside them and supporting them.
“Ever since I came out of prison over 16 years ago, I have been committed to rehabilitation work for offenders and to prison ministry,” Jonathan said. “Much of my work in this field has been done through various PF branches. Nearly 20 years ago I formed a close friendship with PF’s founder, Charles Colson, and wrote his biography. I then served on the board of Prison Fellowship International for over 12 years. I made many prison visits with Charles Colson and often shared speaking platforms with him in various parts of the world.
“Against this background, it will be a joy to support Prison Fellowship England and Wales as a patron and in many other ways.”
PF’s Chief Executive Peter Holloway said, “We are tremendously privileged to have Jonathan join PF as a patron and I am personally very excited by the opportunity of learning from his wealth of experience.”-->
