To support, motivate and encourage the work of the PF groups or activities in a region

Summary of the kind of tasks you may be asked to undertake:

  • Provide a point of contact for specific PF groups with a view to sharing information, expertise and knowledge to motivate those groups and encourage mutual support
  • Work with the Regional Coordinator in establishing new PF groups and provide mentoring support  or training to new group leaders
  • Contribute to the development of PF programmes, activities and training materials

Skills/experience needed:

  • Been involved with PF for at least 1 years with proven experience of coordinating a PF group or programme
  • Sensitive interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and coordination skills
  • Access to a car (desirable)
  • Willingness to speak out for Prison Fellowship (media training will be provided)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable children/adults and a willingness to raise concerns where necessary

  • Regional Coordinator, Head of Communications and Volunteer Support

This role will be challenging but also rewarding. It will be an opportunity to get involved in the wider work of Prison Fellowship and input into PF’s future development, as well as supporting the work of PF groups and helping to grow the volunteer base. Area Leaders will receive appropriate training and resources, twice-yearly meetings with the CEO and Leadership Team, and support from your Regional Coordinator.

The role is unpaid but reasonable expenses will be paid

The time commitment is flexible, depending on the area you are covering and other PF activities that you are involved in. Guide: equivalent to 3 days a month with twice-yearly meetings
