Christmas presents for prisoners' children
DID YOU KNOW?
In England and Wales there are over 100,000 children with a parent in prison.
The children of prisoners are possibly among the most lonely children in our country. Angel Tree is the Prison Fellowship project which remembers the children of prisoners at Christmas. Not to replace an absent parent in prison, but to give a Christmas present on their behalf. All prisoners are eligible - not just those who are Christians or who attend chapel.
Angel Tree
touches everyone involved - including churches, prison staff
and the volunteers themselves. Most importantly,
Angel Tree
gives great joy to the children and their mums and dads. And it's
a wonderful way of helping to keep families together.
"Thank you for sending my son a Christmas gift. It is nice to
know that at this time of year there is someone to bring a bit of
happiness to a child that has done nothing wrong."
Alex, a father in prison
